A typical courtyard in Kyiv’s Podil district is buzzing with Jewish and Ukrainian jokes, songs, and lively bickering. While their parents are away at the Sunday market, Bohdan and Rakhilka defy cultural barriers to confess their love and agree to wed. The parents clash and reconcile, fight and forgive, for the ultimate argument in favor of the couple is the wedding itself—uniting two distinct families into one grand household, all sharing one yard in the heart of Podil.
The local street philosopher, "Hop-with-a-Grinder," offers touching insights and wisdom, seasoning his mottos with traditional Ukrainian and Israeli recipes. Meanwhile, the jovial local policeman, Officer Sobachko—who’s always a bit tipsy—keeps the spirits high with tall tales and street-side anecdotes from the neighborhood.
Age: 16+ Duration: 1 hour 40 minutes (no intermission).
