How to choose a location for a trip with a baby

Mezhyhirya is a great option for a family day in nature. Today it is a park-monument of landscape gardening of national importance and a nature reserve, which until 2014 was the closed residence of Viktor Yanukovych.
The area covers about 136 hectares, so with a baby it’s better not to try to see everything. The most comfortable scenario is to choose one part of the park, walk along wide alleys, take a break by the water, and leave экскурсионный темп for another time.
In Mezhyhirya, you can see views of the Kyiv Sea, cascades of artificial lakes and fountains, “Honka,” a restaurant-ship, zoological and ornithological zones, fruit orchards, hydrangeas, rhododendrons, the “Stump House,” the ruins of the “Parthenon,” a retro car exhibition, and a golf course.
In warm seasons, it’s better to come here in the morning or closer to the evening when it’s less hot and crowded.

Dobropark
Dobropark is a country dendrological park about 29 km from Kyiv. It occupies a large area, so it can be suitable for a walk with a stroller if you choose a short route and don’t plan to see the whole park at once.
The location changes depending on the season. In spring, people come here for tulips; in the warm season—for peonies, hydrangeas, lavender, and perennial grasses; in winter—for festive lights and seasonal events. For parents with a baby, this is primarily a place for a slow walk, colorful photos, and a few hours in the fresh air.
With a baby, it’s better to avoid peak hours, especially during the blooming season when the park is crowded.

Country complex “Family Eco Park Yasnohorodka”

Sheepland Farm
Sheepland is a farm about half an hour from Kyiv where you can go to nature and see domestic animals. There are sheep, goats, donkeys, cows, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, and a shepherd dog.
For a baby, such a trip doesn’t require an active program. It’s enough to walk around, show the animals from a distance, and choose a place for a quiet break. Animal feeding, camping, or an outdoor hot tub are more suitable for adults or families with older children.

oLawander in Dymer is a seasonal location for a calm trip out of the city. They grow strawberries, blackberries, and lavender here, and there is also a café with lavender coffee, lemonades, and desserts.
For parents with a baby, this can be an easy weekend format: a short drive, a walk around the area, coffee, a few photos, and returning home before the evening sleep. Berry picking is best planned only if someone can take turns staying with the baby or if the baby спокойно sleeps in the stroller.
