SOLOMIIA is an exquisite retrospective of the "Golden Age" of opera, dedicated to the legendary prima donna Solomiya Krushelnytska.
This evening, Lady Opera Olga Chubareva will recreate the atmosphere of an era when opera was an art of grand passion and majestic sound. The program features arias by Puccini, Verdi, and Wagner, which once brought Solomiya Krushelnytska acclaim from La Scala to the Metropolitan Opera and became part of the history of world musical theatre.
Alongside these operatic masterpieces, Ukrainian folk songs will be performed in an academic style—repertoire that Krushelnytska always included in her performances on the most prestigious stages.
This evening, the National Philharmonic of Ukraine will also host an exclusive exhibition, "Grand Tour: Solomiya. Ukraine – Italy." The exposition chronicles the life journey of the Soprano d’oro ("Golden Soprano")—the title bestowed upon Solomiya Krushelnytska by international music critics and audiences alike—from her early studies to her global triumphs and creative dialogues with great maestros.
The exhibition, created by the Solomiya Krushelnytska Musical Memorial Museum in Lviv, has already captured the hearts of audiences at one of Europe's largest opera festivals, the Puccini Festival.
Event partner: Solomiya Krushelnytska Musical Memorial Museum (Lviv).
