During the final weekend of May, Kyiv celebrates City Day with open-air concerts, book and гастрonomic festivals, markets, fairs, and parties. The program for May 29–31 includes the “Book Arsenal,” Kyiv Food and Wine Festival, “Generation” at VDNG, S.V.E.T Festival, concerts by POSITIFF, CHICO & QATOSHI, and Dakh Daughters, as well as events with a distinctly Kyiv atmosphere: KMCC Kyiv Day Fest, “Kyiv Retro,” and the fair at the Ivan Honchar Museum.

Kyiv Food and Wine Festival

Kyiv Food and Wine Festival returns to VDNG for the 24th time. Ukrainian winemakers and craft cheesemakers will gather in Pavilion 4 to present new flavors, the fresh 2025 vintage, cheeses, a food zone, and free tastings of most wines and cheeses.

The program also includes the Uwines Awards 2026, a wine and cheese school with tasting lectures, the traditional charity Kyiv Wine Run, contests, giveaways, and activities supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. PRO+ ticket holders will have access to a special area featuring tastings of award-winning wines.

S.V.E.T Festival

S.V.E.T Festival returns to Art Zavod Platforma with a new space concept where electronic music merges with light, visual installations, and 4D imagery. Organizers describe the event as a fantasy world among the “concrete jungle,” where nature and technology create a new form of life.

Guests can expect two stages, VIP zones, photo zones, visual installations, bars, and food courts. The festival will work with electronic sound, light, and spatial design, transforming the industrial venue into a unified system of rhythm and movement.

Exhibition “Seasons in the Botanical Garden”

The Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine is hosting the exhibition “Seasons in the Botanical Garden,” dedicated to the paintings of Larysa and Iryna Hodunova. The project presents the Botanical Garden through the eyes of two artists — mother and daughter — who created landscapes from the windows of their family studio.

The exhibition combines Larysa Hodunova’s emotional use of color with the decorative style and symbolism of Iryna Hodunova. It also explores the continuity of artistic tradition and family creative heritage.

KMCC Kyiv Day Fest

Kyiv Morning Coffee Club is organizing a large Kyiv Day celebration in a festival format featuring music, sports, yoga, and community activities. The event will take place at Kyiv Food Market — a venue organizers describe as one of the symbols of the modern city.

The lineup includes The Maneken, Nathan Daisy (JAW), AIDENTIQUE, Awl Alexander, Seba Korecky, and KMCC resident Mari Velia. Parallel charity activities will also take place, including RAVE & RUN on Trukhaniv Island and URBAN YOGA at Urban Sport City.

“Kyiv Retro”: Albert Tsukrenko and the MOVA Band

The band MOVA returns with its concert program “Kyiv Retro,” which has already become part of Kyiv Day celebrations. The evening at Caribbean Club will be dedicated to urban songs and the atmosphere of Kyiv.

The event will be hosted by Albert Tsukrenko, with guests including Daniela Zayushkina from Vivienne Mort and media analyst Oleksii Kovzhun. The musical program will feature songs about Kyiv, including “Chestnuts Falling on the Pavement,” “Dear Kyiv Girl,” and “Kyiv Lights.”

“Generation” Festival

The “Generation” festival, dedicated to the pop culture of the 1990s and 2000s, will host a three-day program at VDNG.

On May 30, performers will include Mika Newton, Vitalii Kozlovskyi, Gaitana, and ALIBI. On May 31, LAMA, Zhenia Halych, and Sviatoslav Vakarchuk will appear with an acoustic program. Throughout the festival, themed photo zones, interactive areas, and DJ sets featuring music from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s will also be available.

Generation Festival

Dakh Daughters Concert

Dakh Daughters will present their new ANTIDOT program at the October Palace. The project is described as an “artistic vaccination against manipulation and disinformation.”

In this new work, the band combines music, drama, grotesque elements, and its own creative reflection on contemporary events.

“Vsi. Svoi.” Kyiv Market

For Kyiv Day, “Vsi. Svoi.” will hold a large Ukrainian brands market on Desiatynna Street. The event will feature clothing, accessories, décor, cosmetics, home goods, gastronomy, and gifts.

A lecture series with authors from the SIMIO publishing house is also planned, focusing on finding inner support during times of uncertainty, along with a poster exhibition by the PICTORIC illustrators’ community.

“Book Arsenal”

The 14th International “Book Arsenal” Festival will bring together more than 150 guests, including writers, artists, lecturers, and representatives of the cultural scene. The program includes discussions, lectures, readings, workshops, book presentations, performative events, and exhibitions.

A major book fair with a wide selection of new publications will traditionally be one of the central parts of the festival.

Laboratorium Spring Festival

Laboratorium will host a two-day electronic music festival with two stages and an international lineup. Headliners include Dion Visser, Frazi.er, Exos, Perc, Sköne, VCL, and other artists.

This year, the main stage will be organized in a 360° format, while the Solar Stage will receive a new spatial configuration. The location will be announced to ticket holders 24 hours before the event begins.

Laboratorium Spring Festival

Kyiv Day Fair

The Ivan Honchar Museum will hold a folk art fair for Kyiv Day. Craftspeople from different regions of Ukraine will present ceramics, wooden, wicker, and straw products, traditional clothing, jewelry, and ethnic accessories.

The program also includes pottery, wicker weaving, and woodcarving workshops, community singing, traditional music, dancing, and children’s activities. On May 31, the venue will host a special program of the “Kobzar Trinity 2026” festival.
