About event

On June 11 at 4:00 PM, the National Museum of Decorative Art of Ukraine will host the opening of the exhibition "Peace to Heaven and Earth. Porcelain Symphony of the Tregubov Family." For the first time, this exhibition brings together the creative heritage of an entire artistic family—Mykola, Valentyna, Nataliia, and Volodymyr Tregubov—within a single exhibition space.

The exhibition features around 400 works. It combines the creations of outstanding artists from the museum's collection and the family's private archive, demonstrating the continuity of artistic traditions, a familial dialogue between generations, and an ongoing creative quest. The title of the exhibition comes from one of Mykola Tregubov’s finest sets—"Peace to Heaven and Earth" (1985)—and takes on a deeply symbolic resonance today.

The works of Mykola Tregubov (1922–2007)—Honored Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, and leading sculptor of the Korosten Porcelain Factory—occupy a central place and are the highlight of the exhibition. Throughout his creative life, the artist designed numerous shapes for dinner, tea, and coffee sets, decorative vases, platters, and souvenirs, characterized by a refined sense of form, flawless mastery of the material, and a deep understanding of national traditions.

The works of his wife, Valentyna Tregubova (1926–2010), stand out for their decorative expressiveness, vibrant imagery, and distinct Ukrainian color palette. A sculptor of small forms, Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, and mother of Nataliia and Volodymyr Tregubov, she served as the chief artist of the Korosten Porcelain Factory for many years. Her artistic portfolio includes sculptural compositions, figurative tableware, uniquely shaped sets, vases, and souvenirs.

A special section of the exhibition is dedicated to the work of Nataliia Tregubova (1952–2021)—a sculptor, painter, and graphic artist who continued the family’s artistic traditions while developing her own figurative and plastic language. Her works combine deep psychological resonance, balanced form, and an attentive approach to human character.

For the first time, the general public will also be introduced to the works of Volodymyr Tregubov (1957–2013), who worked in the fields of small-form sculpture and painting. His art is distinguished by a combination of realistic precision, artistic expression, and a subtle sense of decorative form.
