"Joy" is a large-scale group project featuring Ukrainian and international artists, exploring the emotion that helps us endure during difficult times. The exhibition’s starting point is the personal testimonies of servicemen, veterans, and servicewomen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, collected by marine Hlib Stryzhko. These texts have been transformed into spatial objects, integrated into the exposition alongside the artworks.
Against the backdrop of the war experience, the exhibition speaks of joy as a state of being that can manifest in many ways — whether loud and vibrant or subtle and quiet — but it is often exactly what keeps us moving forward.
