When meetings at favorite cafés and familiar walks around the city center start to feel repetitive, a date can be turned into a small journey. Outside Kyiv, there are places where the two of you can walk through flower fields, try pottery, attend a cheese tasting, explore an archaeological exhibition, or ride a horse for the first time.
In our selection, you will find options for a few hours, a full day, and weekends with an overnight stay.
A trip to «Dobropark» should be planned according to the blooming season. In spring, tulips and peonies bloom here one after another, while summer brings the seasons of lavender, petunias, and hydrangeas. In June and July, lavender together with other flower locations covers about ten hectares. Photo zones and resting areas have been arranged among the plantings.
You should set aside several hours for such a date and avoid making the schedule too packed. First, you can walk through the flower fields, and then take a break at the food court. During the warm season, a pool complex also operates in the park. It requires a separate ticket, which already includes admission to «Dobropark». Those who want to extend the trip until the next day can stay in modular houses in a glamping format.
Address: Kyiv region, Motyzhyn village, 29th kilometer of the Zhytomyr highway.
The central part of the complex recreates Dytynets — the fortified core of medieval Kyiv. Here you can see wooden defensive structures, gates, watchtowers, the prince’s court, and estates that help imagine the layout of a city from several centuries ago. The walk feels more like an exploration than a museum visit: you can move between the sites at your own pace and stop wherever something interests you the most.
For a date, you can book a guided tour and then visit the medieval costume room. Its collection includes clothing and armor from the 5th–15th centuries, so an ordinary walk can turn into a photo session in historical outfits. Another option is to arrange a visit to the Prince’s Stable or a horseback ride in advance.
The complex’s website contains pages with different rates, so the current admission prices and additional services should be clarified by phone. The costume room, excursions, and horse-related activities are also better arranged in advance — on weekdays, some activities may be unavailable without prior booking.
Address: Kyiv region, Obukhiv district, Zastuhna village, near Kopachiv village. For navigation, the administration recommends entering the name of the complex or the coordinates 50.145642, 30.474139.
«Babyni Kozy» is a family farm that has been operating since 2007 and breeds Saanen goats. Here they produce more than two dozen types of cheese, as well as soap made from goat’s milk. Therefore, the trip can be built around getting to know the farm and cheese production, finishing with a tasting.
Unlike large tourist complexes, you cannot simply stop by here on the way. The owners welcome guests only by prior arrangement, so the date and time must be agreed upon in advance. During the tour, visitors are shown the farm, introduced to the animals, and told about milk processing. Cheese tasting is included in the program, and after it, products can be purchased to take home.
Address: Kyiv region, Bila Tserkva district, Halaiky village, Tsentralna Street, 2-B.
Belotserkovsky arboretum "Alexandria"
Alexandria Park, Bila Tserkva, Kyiv Region
«Oleksandriia» is so large that trying to explore it all in one visit will quickly turn a date into a sports marathon. The park covers more than 400 hectares, so it is better to choose several locations in advance: the «Luna» Colonnade, the Chinese Bridge, the «Ruins», the Great Meadow, and one of the ponds. There will still be enough time between them for long pauses and walks without a fixed route.
The park changes throughout the year. In spring, it is worth looking for magnolias and lilacs; in summer — the rose garden and shaded alleys; in autumn — open views around the meadows and water bodies. For a first visit, you can book a two-hour guided tour: it will help you understand when and why individual pavilions and artificial ruins appeared in these particular parts of the park.
Address: Kyiv region, the city of Bila Tserkva — 13.
Ethnographic complex "Ukrainian village"
Polyana Lisova Street 60, Бузова, Київська обл., Украина, 08120
At the center of the complex there is an open-air museum featuring six authentic 19th-century houses relocated from different regions of Ukraine. A walk can be turned into a small exploration for two: enter each house, examine the furniture, dishes, and fabrics, and compare how homes were arranged in Polissia, Podillia, Hutsulshchyna, or Slobozhanshchyna.
On weekends, it is worth adding a joint activity in the craft workshop to the route. Here you can try pottery, make a traditional fabric print, cast a candle, or create a traditional doll. Usually, three or four craftsmen work at the same time, and guests are welcomed on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, it is better to arrive in the first half of the day to choose an activity without rushing and create together an item that will remain as a memory of the trip.
Address: Kyiv region, Bucha district, Buzova village, Dmytrivska Street, 1.
The name may suggest that this is a classic medieval castle, but the complex was created in a restored building of an old mill. It stands on the site of a paper mill that was built at the beginning of the 17th century for the needs of the printing house of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Inside, there is the Museum of Ukrainian Home Icons and Antiquities «The Soul of Ukraine» — twelve halls with approximately five thousand exhibits.
The collection is not limited to icons: it also includes old photographs, wooden sculptures, furniture, chandeliers, irons, and other household items. After the museum, you can walk through the park with bridges and water features, and by prior arrangement — attend a master demonstration at the paper mill, where the 17th-century paper-making technology is shown.
For a one-day trip, it is better to choose weekends: the museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 18:00, while on weekdays it accepts pre-booked groups.
Address: Zhytomyr region, the city of Radomyshl, Pletenetska Street, 15.
At Equides Club, a date can be built around a lesson at the equestrian club. No previous experience is required: beginners train with an instructor who helps them get acquainted with the horse, learn the correct riding position, and master basic commands. One training session lasts 45 minutes, and the format for two people should be arranged with the administration in advance.
After the lesson, you can share your impressions over breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Chalet Equides restaurant. This plan does not overload the day: first comes a shared activity that brings new emotions, and then — time for a relaxed continuation of the date.
Address: Kyiv region, Obukhiv district, Lisnyky village, Vyshneva Street, 36.
The Archaeological Museum in Trypillia is suitable for a date where you want to discover something new together. The exhibition takes visitors from the earliest history of the Kyiv region to the Cossack era and everyday life of the 20th century, but the hall dedicated to the Trypillia culture attracts the most attention. It was in the village’s surroundings that Viktor Khvoyka studied settlements at the end of the 19th century, after which the culture received its name.
The hall presents ornamented ceramics, ritual vessels, figurines, and binocular-shaped vessels, the purpose of which researchers still interpret in different ways. Hundreds of symbols and their combinations are counted on Trypillia artifacts, so the tour easily turns into a shared attempt to figure out where you are looking at decoration and where — an ancient way of transmitting information.

«Beremytske» is about 500 hectares of protected natural territory on the left bank of the Desna River, where the landscape is being restored with minimal human intervention. There is no usual set of entertainment here: the date is built more around a long walk, observing nature, and the opportunity to spend time together away from city noise.
For a first visit, it is worth booking a guided tour of the protected area. The guide will help you notice things that are easy to miss during an independent walk: animal tracks, changes in vegetation, and areas of natural grazing. Depending on the season, the route can be complemented with bird watching, a visit to the stable, the wild cats museum, or an introduction to animals undergoing rehabilitation.
If you want to extend the trip, you can book a wooden house with a terrace in the park or stay at the campsite. This way, a one-day walk can turn into a peaceful weekend in nature.
Address: Chernihiv region, Beremytske village. It is better to check the exact route and entrance point using the park’s official map.
SHELEST can be chosen for both a one-day trip and a weekend getaway. During the warm season, visitors come here to relax by the pool, walk through the forest, and have dinner at the restaurant. If you stay overnight, you can add a massage, sauna, or SPA treatment to the program and spend the following morning without rushing.
When booking, it is worth considering that construction of a large SPA complex is currently underway on the territory. The administration warns about possible daytime noise and offers special conditions for stays of two nights or more. Therefore, check the location of your room in advance and whether the construction work may affect your planned отдых.
Address: Kyiv region, Vyshhorod district, Pirnivska territorial community, «Mayak+» garden association, Prymorska Street, 1.
And if there is no time for a trip outside the city, you can also arrange a date in Kyiv — without the usual table for two. In our selection «Where to Go on a Date in Kyiv If You Don’t Want a Restaurant: 8 Alternative Ideas», we have collected options ranging from a planetarium and a jazz concert to an open-air cinema and a picnic with a view of the city.
