The concert program will feature music by Ukrainian composers of different eras — from classicism to the present day. Performed by the Kyiv Mozart Orchestra.
Our country is currently going through one of the most difficult trials in its modern history, fighting for its right to forge its own path. Ukrainian culture is a central element of this struggle, as national identity and the so-called "genetic code" of the nation are most firmly embedded in cultural artifacts. The musical component of our culture is its calling card, widely known and respected all over the world.
The program includes works by Dmytro Bortniansky — an outstanding musician of the 18th century whose work influenced many artists of subsequent generations. In addition, the concert will feature works by contemporary Ukrainian composers. You will hear the most famous work by Myroslav Skoryk, author of the music for the film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" — the brilliant "Melody," as well as "Spanish Dance" and "Diptych" for string quartet. Oleksandr Shymko’s "Dreams of an Old Forest" for string orchestra will also be performed.
We invite you to join us in listening to Ukrainian music, which is admired by the whole world!
