"JYTTIA Kvitka" Art Exhibition by Designer Natalia Gogoleva

"Ukraine is a flower that will surely bloom when the sun rises." An exhibition featuring paintings from the "JYTTIA Kvitka" series by designer Natalia Gogoleva will be held in Kyiv at the National Taras Shevchenko Museum.

The grand opening will take place on August 19 at 6:00 PM.

"JYTTIA Kvitka" is a manifesto. It is life finding the strength to blossom even after the hardest trials. Through original works inspired by Ukrainian decorative tradition and reinterpreted through a modern artistic language, the exhibition explores themes of inner strength, the reimagining of interior murals, and rebirth through architectural space.

In this project, the flower is a symbol of life—fragile yet unbreakable. It personifies Ukraine, its culture, and its people who, despite losses and challenges, continue to create, love, and look to the future.

"JYTTIA Kvitka" will become a meeting space for art, culture, and human stories—a place where dialogue about beauty, resilience, and the power of life is born.

The main goal of the project is to deliver a message to the world: "Ukraine is a flower that will surely bloom when the sun rises."

The exhibition will feature 10 paintings in the Petrikovka style, offered as decor for various interior spaces. Petrikovka painting is an example of how everyday life can become art. Its history originates from ancient wall painting used to decorate houses in the village of Petrikovka, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Painting was an integral part of life in Ukraine, with each region boasting unique features and techniques. In spring, Ukrainians traditionally went out to update the murals on their homes.

In addition to walls, household items such as wedding chests were also decorated with paintings. Later, "malovky"—paintings on paper prepared in advance by female artisans to add bright accents to their homes—appeared.

"JYTTIA Kvitka" is a personal exhibition by Ukrainian architect and designer Natalia Gogoleva, running from August 19 to August 30, 2026, at the National Taras Shevchenko Museum.

The grand opening will take place on August 19 at 6:00 PM. From August 20 to August 30, the exhibition is open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

• Museum admission ticket: 200 UAH for adults, 100 UAH for children.
