The National Center "Ukrainian House" looks at the institution's modernist building through the eyes of its visitors — and presents the photo exhibition "The Architecture of Relationships," featuring works by 74 participants.
Following an open call for co-authorship, the team received over 300 applications and 2000+ photographs. From these, 161 images were selected for the exhibition, documenting the building’s interior and exterior.
In this collection, the experience of perception takes center stage: through light and shadow, forms and voids, details and serendipitous coincidences. What role does the architecture of the Ukrainian House play in shaping the capital's iconic landscape, in the experience of perceiving exhibitions, and in a person's awareness of their own scale?
The subjective lenses of the viewers create a multifaceted image of the Ukrainian House. There is no single point of view, but rather something more significant — a brief act of coexistence between person and space. Upon closer inspection, its angles, rhythms, angles, and perspectives coalesce into that which is usually so elusive — the spirit of the place.
This architecture of relationships reveals a multitude of perspectives, fueled by the authors' attention and curiosity toward the building as form and the "home" as essence.
