On March 20 at 6:00 PM, the Lavra Kyiv Municipal City Art Gallery will host the grand opening of the "Internal Landscape" exhibition in its Main Hall. This large-scale project, created by young artists Yevhen Klymenko and Liliia Butenko, is part of the special program for the "Museum of Contemporary Art" project.
The exhibition will feature paintings, graphics, ceramics, and art objects. The opening night will include a live performance: Yevhen Klymenko will create a painting accompanied by electronic music.
Landscape is a cornerstone genre of fine art, yet modern artists continue to discover new meanings within it. The core of Klymenko and Butenko's research is the connection between one's internal state and the external environment. By exploring how thoughts and feelings depend on contemplating different landscapes and natural states, the artists demonstrate that the perception of reality is profoundly subjective. The authors assert that each of us possesses a subconscious reality inspired by nature in the "here and now"—and it is this reality that truly lingers in our memory.
