On May 15 at 6:00 PM, the Lavra Gallery will host the opening of "The Flower Garden," a new project by renowned Ukrainian artist and "New Wave" representative Yurii Solomko. The exhibition features a large-scale art installation in three parts, reinterpreting contemporary reality through images of flowers within informational, virtual, and cartographic spaces.
A flower garden is a multifaceted symbol of rebirth, beauty, and harmony. In Ukrainian tradition, gardens near the home served as family talismans—part of the cultural DNA nurtured by this land.
Solomko’s exposition is built on antithesis and paradox. By merging symbols of beauty and brutality, the artist creates a semantic labyrinth reflecting the drama of an unpredictable world:

The Outer Circle: "Catastrophe flowers" created by AI. A view of Earth from space where life is gone, and flowers are the remnants of nuclear explosions.

The Middle Circle: Familiar maps of Ukraine where ordinary flowers attain planetary grandeur in relation to the landscape.

The Center: A post-apocalyptic landscape featuring a single flower—a monitor representing the "bloom" of the information space.
Created as a response to the looming nuclear threats in the media, the project's core motif is the vital force growing through horror. Every marigold that blooms this spring is more than a memory; it is an act of resistance—a symbol of humanity enduring in a fractured world.
