"Temporarily (Empty)" — Exhibition by Yaroslava Melnychenko
On April 8 at 5:00 PM, the National Taras Shevchenko Museum invites you to the opening of Yaroslava Melnychenko’s exhibition, "Temporarily (Empty)."
Curated by Oksana Ozarchuk, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the various forms of "absence" during wartime.
The exposition follows a journey from the public to the intimate. It begins with Yaroslava’s reflections on the protection and dismantling of monuments. The next and central hall sheds light on the urgent challenges currently faced by museums. The narrative concludes in the most intimate space, exploring "apartment galleries" — private homes that have transformed into exhibition venues during the war, revealing the personal perspectives of both the artist and the curator.
