Bazylevych’s Aeneid in Kyiv — An exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Anatoliy Bazylevych, the creator of the iconic illustrations for Ivan Kotlyarevsky’s poem The Aeneid.
The exposition features original illustrations, sketches, and archival materials that transformed The Aeneid into a unique artistic phenomenon and one of the key visual codes of 20th-century Ukrainian culture. Here, The Aeneid emerges as a graphic novel of its era and a living history that continues to evolve.
Admire, rediscover, laugh, and experience Bazylevych’s Aeneid at Ya Gallery Kyiv.
The project opens alongside the exhibition "The Infinite Aeneid," curated by Pavlo Gudimov at the Ivan Franko Theater (Kyiv), which explores the phenomenon of The Aeneid in Ukrainian art.
