About event

Experience the inter-museum project: "The Carpathians. These Mountains Know No Submission."

The exhibition presents majestic landscapes where blooming meadows and snow-capped peaks serve as symbols of eternity and freedom. Alongside them are genre paintings and portraits that reveal the rugged spirit of the highlanders. The collection focuses on Ukrainian artists of the 1950s–1970s, complemented by delicate porcelain figurines and majolica.

Exhibition Highlights:

  • The Sixties Generation (Shistdesiatnyky): Works by Veniamin Kushnir and Liubov Panchenko, who found in the Carpathians a spiritual anchor and a path toward reclaiming national identity. Their portraits and landscapes explore the deep connection between nature, humanity, and daily life.

  • Transcarpathian and Lviv Schools of Painting: Masterpieces by Yosyp Bokshai, Adalbert Erdeli, Ernest Kontratovych, Havrylo Hliuk, and Roman Selskyi. The exhibition features their signature plein-air painting style, deeply rooted in European traditions, capturing the vibrant light and expressive colors of the mountain slopes.
