To mark the 95th anniversary of the birth of Yevgenia Miroshnychenko—an outstanding Ukrainian singer, Hero of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR (1972), and professor—a jubilee concert dedicated to the memory of the legendary artist will take place.
Yevgenia Miroshnychenko possessed a unique lyric-coloratura soprano with a wide range, brilliant coloratura technique, and a rare dramatic talent. Her debut as Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata at the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theatre marked the beginning of a great creative journey that led the singer to international acclaim. She studied at La Scala in Milan and toured throughout Europe, the USA, Canada, Japan, and China. Her performances as Lucia, the Queen of the Night, Gilda, Rosina, and Violetta have become part of the golden fund of Ukrainian operatic art.
Her pedagogical mission was equally significant. Yevgenia Miroshnychenko mentored a whole galaxy of singers who now represent the Ukrainian vocal school on world stages. Her life became an example of boundless devotion to music, the stage, and Ukraine.
This jubilee concert will be an evening of memory and gratitude—an opportunity to once again honor an artist whose voice, talent, and strength of character have forever become an integral part of Ukrainian culture.
