Add to calendarIn the final days of summer, you want to do it all at once: spend as much time as possible in the fresh air, soak up evening stories from loved ones, and watch a movie on a summer terrace. This NotaBene Chamber Group concert is designed so that you won't have to choose—everything fits into one hour.
Mozart supposedly wrote his "Kegelstatt" Trio while playing skittles, and in its light, playful movement, you can truly hear the mood of a carefree day in the open air.
Bruch’s Eight Pieces are music for the evening: inspired, sometimes melancholic, sometimes almost fairytale-like. The clarinet, cello, and piano here tell short stories that are best heard as the day winds down.
And Nino Rota's Trio transports you to a summer cinema featuring classic Italian films. Rota composed the scores for Fellini’s films and The Godfather, and his chamber music is just as cinematic: by turns ironic and lyrical, imbued with a recognizable Mediterranean warmth.
