The "Mozart. Ravel. Chopin" concert combines works where the refinement of chamber music coexists with vivid emotionality and brilliant piano mastery. At the heart of the program lies a world of childhood fantasies, subtle emotions, and contrasting moods, emerging through the music of different eras.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Sonata for Four Hands opens the evening with clarity of thought, natural melodies, and a perfect balance between the two performers. Resonating with it are Frédéric Chopin's 24 Preludes—a kind of diary of feelings, where each miniature creates a distinct emotional world, from pensive lyricism to dramatic outbursts.
A special place in the program is occupied by Maurice Ravel's cycle "Ma mère l'Oye" (Mother Goose). Inspired by fairy tales, the music recreates images of Sleeping Beauty, Tom Thumb, and other characters with astonishing delicacy, blending childlike spontaneity with refined compositional craft.
Chopin’s romantic temperament will be revealed in its full intensity in his famous Scherzo No. 2—one of the composer's most spectacular works—as well as in the rarely performed Variations on a Theme by Thomas Moore for piano four hands, filled with inventiveness, humor, and ensemble brilliance.
The program will be performed by Denys Kashuba and Maksym Shadko—pianists who reveal with equal talent both the delicate equilibrium of ensemble playing and the individual expressiveness of solo episodes.
