About event

Today, the national emblem, the Tryzub (Trident), is an integral part of our existence. It is featured on documents, on the patches of Ukrainian defenders, and on the walls of state institutions. The Trident is in every Ukrainian’s pocket — on currency and IDs. Yet, not everyone knows how deep and complex the history of this symbol truly is. Throughout the centuries, like a phoenix, the Trident appeared, vanished, was forgotten, and was reborn again.

In our lecture, "Not Just a Trident: History, Myths, and Reality," you will discover how this symbol stood the test of time to become a national icon and a part of the Ukrainian ethnocultural code. We will debunk some of the most common myths and discuss the symbolic role of this sign in the ongoing information war against our enemy.
