Cosiness
The theater building holds the memory of turbulent historical events (built in 1907 !!!). She managed to visit a surgical clinic, the People's Movement headquarters, a shelter of activists of the Revolution of Dignity ... However, it was the Small Theater that turned out to be its true destination.
Dimensionality
There are only 50 seats in the hall and each spectator seems to be in the front row. Feelings, emotions, thoughts, meanings are conveyed face to face. Here it is impossible to fake - neither to actors nor to viewers!
However, we are not just confined to the hall, but we pierce the whole building with art. There is a spacious modern style foyer, a unique terrace (drinking coffee here and taking selfies is a great pleasure!).
Variety
Our repertoire is a mosaic of genres and trends in contemporary theater. Poetry and prose, love and shooting, classics and postmodernism, fairytale and reality, frantic tension and absolute relaxation. Each performance is a separate world, a separate mood, a separate aesthetics.
Multiculturalism
We are trying to integrate theater into the city's cultural context and, on the contrary, to theatricalize other forms of art. In addition to drama theater, Mali is a literary readings, music evenings, stand-up performances, fine arts exhibitions, educational lectures, workshops, entertaining and informative interview shows.
Openness
We are always on the lookout for something new. We strive to enrich the language of Ukrainian theater and open new names. The small theater collaborates with various creative artists. Every season, we have directing and acting debuts as part of the Step by Step program. And, closing each season, we have an Ideas Pitching where anyone can come up with a creative idea. The winner-take-all project will be embodied with our team.
So, it's time for us.
