The longing for light and cherished memories hold a person together, moving them forward. To hope for the future while leaning on one's past is, for many, a true formula for overcoming adversity.

The sonic washes of Takemitsu construct a shifting breath of music: a flare, then a fade. Isang Yun approaches sonic density differently—without excessive emotionalism, he explores the tapestry of music and its texture. He is joined by Erkki-Sven Tüür, who juxtaposes the distinct lines of musical instruments and then merges them into a collective mass of sound, emulating the technical devices of Bach’s music.

Maksym Ivanov, though working with delicate and fragile timbres, uses them to explore the energetic impulse and its subsequent decay. Andrew Norman infuses his music with cathedral-like light and the transcendence of a religious and contemplative experience.
