The first half features J.S. Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 1, a masterpiece blending French grace from the court of the "Sun King" with German contrapuntal mastery. It is followed by Francesco Geminiani’s Concerto Grosso "La Follia." Based on an ancient Portuguese melody meaning "madness," Geminiani’s rendition—true to his nickname "il furibondo" (the furious)—is filled with sharp contrasts and bold ornamentation.
The second half opens with G.F. Handel’s Concerto Grosso (Op. 3/2), notable for its operatic emotional depth in the Largo movement. The evening culminates with Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3. Its second movement, the world-famous "Air," stands as an apotheosis of spiritual beauty, offering a moment of profound lyrical reflection and supreme harmony.
