Spend two days in the lush garden of “V’YAVA” on a journey into ancient rituals, folklore, and magic. Kupala Night will be celebrated with full tradition: weaving flower crowns, pottery and blacksmith workshops, round dances, and fire rituals. Visitors can make their own protective charms — from “mermaid” and “mavka” wreaths to those made with periwinkle.
The program includes lectures on ritual symbolism, folk singing, drumming circles, nature-connection ceremonies, depictions of witches and mermaids, and the meaning of the Kupala fire. A highlight will be the “Kupala Tree” ritual reenacted by the band “Volodar”: tree decoration, circle dances, burning a symbolic witch, and games.
Live folk music will play throughout — with bands from all over Ukraine. Saturday’s headliner is Yurcash, and on Sunday — singer and bandura player Maryna Krut.

The Kyiv Art Gallery is hosting a major exhibition dedicated to one of the most vibrant chapters in contemporary Ukrainian art — the Kyiv squat “BZH-ART.” It emerged in the 1990s in an abandoned building on Velyka Zhytomyrska as a free space with no rules, censorship, or hierarchy — and evolved into a collective phenomenon that influenced a whole generation of artists.
The exhibit includes painting, sculpture, installation, land art, video, and performance — tracing the squat’s beginnings to its modern-day artistic transformations. Featuring works by 44 artists, including Petro Bevza, Matviy Vaisberg, Vladyslav Shereshevskyi, Serhii Hai, Temo Svireli, Vita Khaydurova, Yurii Solomko, Mykhailo Shapovalenko, and more.
Admission: 100–200 UAH

All under the open sky and amidst the trees — with the feeling you’ve arrived “home.”

The exhibition includes curator tours, film screenings, and discussions. Schedules are available on the websites of the War Childhood Museum and Dovzhenko Centre.
