WLive: Light of Myth

"WLive: Light of Myth" is an art project that unites memory and the future, an outstanding personality and the young voices shaping the new generation of Ukrainian musical culture today. At the core of the project is the figure of Vasyl Slipak: a world-class singer, a man of exceptional talent, strength of spirit, and boundless love for Ukraine. The title refers to his stage pseudonym — MYTH. At the same time, "Light of Myth" symbolizes the inner fire that Vasyl Slipak left behind — a fire of creativity, freedom, human dignity, and devotion to one's calling.

The event presents the upcoming edition of the Vasyl Slipak Young Vocalists Competition, which will take place in late 2027. Created in honor of the artist, the Competition has become a space where talent meets opportunity, a place where young performers find support, professional recognition, and inspiration for their creative growth.

A special meaning will be brought to the evening by laureates of the Competition from various years. Young singers for whom participation became a vital step in their professional development will take the stage as established artists. Their presence is the best testament that the idea of supporting young talents initiated by Vasyl Slipak continues to bear fruit.

Marking the tenth anniversary of Vasyl Slipak's passing, "WLive: Light of Myth" serves not only as a tribute to the memory of an extraordinary artist, but also as proof that his voice continues to resonate — through the work of young performers, the development of the Ukrainian vocal school, and the cultural landscape of Ukraine that he helped shape with his talent and his life.
