Dymchuk Gallery presents a solo project by Halyna Andrusenko, "Protected," in partnership with the MYPH School of Conceptual and Art Photography. The exhibition includes graphic art, painting, photography, video, installation, and documentation of the artist's performative practices.
In the "Protected" series, Halyna Andrusenko documents how the full-scale war is changing urban space and the way memory is preserved within it. Sculptures, covered with protective structures and materials due to the threat of destruction from shelling, form a new visual landscape for Ukrainian cities. Losing their familiar appearance, they turn into temporary abstract objects that emerged not as a deliberate artistic gesture, but as a societal reaction to the war and an attempt to preserve cultural memory.
Works from this project have been exhibited multiple times across Europe, and the "Protected" exhibition marks the first large-scale presentation of these pieces in Kyiv as part of the artist's solo project.
