"Fresh" Exhibition

On September 9, Vladyslav Shereshevskyi's exhibition project "Fresh" opens its doors. The exposition features the artist's newest works, where humor and tragedy, grotesque and lyricism, the joy of life and the realization of human fragility surprisingly coexist.

The exhibition immerses viewers in Shereshevskyi's artistic world, filled with contrasting emotional states mixed into a complex, multi-layered "cocktail." The artist does not divide subjects into "high" and "mundane" and avoids "correct" intonations. He looks at the world attentively and ironically, without fear of appearing inconvenient.

In the spirit of pop art creators, the painter borrows Van Gogh's stylistic approach to portray famous figures: Ilya Repin, Ivan Franko, Sergei Parajanov, and Albert Einstein. Under the master's brush, they lose their monumentality and become active participants in our present day.

Alongside them stand brightly painted jesters with eyes filled with sorrow and pain. Clown makeup hides the terror, yet simultaneously exposes it: laughter here does not negate tragedy, but becomes a way to survive it.

The exposition showcases landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and reflections on war intersecting in the most unexpected variations. The artist's manner freely "jumps" from realism with meticulously detailed elements to surrealistic canvases with a postmodern vision. In many works, the echo of war is distinctly felt—through a gray palette or veiled subtexts.

"This is fresh," the artist says of his recent works. He jokingly calls himself a skilled baker "preparing" culinary still lifes filled with multiple layers of meaning—try to unravel them all!
