We are celebrating the midpoint of summer with the Molly Route exhibition 'Swifts Before August'.
Molly Route is a contemporary Kyiv-based artist who works primarily in graphic techniques, using a gel pen as her main tool.
'I never stop admiring nature—it is the main source of my inspiration. Speaking of everyday spaces, it seems to me that the world around us is so simple, yet there is so much philosophy and beauty in this simplicity. It is endless,' the artist says about her inspiration.
The exhibition features several series of drawings from recent years, including a number of illustrations for the first printed collection of poems and short stories by writer, poet, and co-founder of Squat 17b, Daria Kryzh, titled 'Journey to the East' (Komubook publishing house). All of them tell stories about the East. About home. About war. About loss, change, and renewal. About love and the inner strength to overcome fear and death.
At the opening, Molly Route will delve a bit deeper into the stories behind the works, and Daria Kryzh will read original poetry from her collection.
Curated by Nadiia Antonets.
Admission to the opening and throughout the exhibition period is free, with the opportunity to make a donation in any amount comfortable for you.
100% of the proceeds from art prints and postcards, as well as 50% from the originals, will be donated to our fundraiser.
All collected funds will be transferred to the 2nd Corps of the NGU 'Khartia' to purchase 650 heavy 'Vampire' bombers to hold liberated territories in the Kupyansk direction and continue operations.
Exhibition opening: July 16, 7:00 PM.
The exhibition runs from July 16 through August 15.
