Musical fairy tale "How the Cossacks tamed the snake"

The Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre for Children and Youth will host a children's performance set to the music of Ihor Poklad, "How the Cossacks Tamed the Dragon," based on Oleksandr Vratarov's fairy tale "The Whiny Dragoness." It is a cheerful Cossack entertainment about a village where the Cossack Pylyp and his beloved Yaryna live.

We will also enter the domain of the dragon Rubailo, who lives with his daughter, the "whiny and tedious" Zmiuchka-Nesmiuchka (Dragoness the Unsmiling). This dragon considers himself kind and wise, but in reality, he is a total beast.

In addition to exciting adventures on stage, you will find dancing, jokes, songs, and fun. We will defeat the dragon, cheer up his daughter, and marry off Yaryna and Pylyp. How all of this will unfold, we will see during our performance. This production has been running at the theatre for over 17 years and, in 2002, received the Kyiv Pectoral Award in the "Best Children's Production" category.
