The Caucasian Chalk Circle

How do you cope when the world shatters into fragments? Where do you find the strength when everything familiar vanishes, and only the unknown lies ahead?

The Caucasian Chalk Circle at the Theater on the Left Bank is a bold, modern interpretation of Brecht’s parable about a woman who is not afraid to take a step toward her destiny. On a stage filled with live music, singing, and powerful actor energy, two worlds collide: a passionate drive for life and the silence of inner devastation. What will win? The answer, as always, lies in the audience.

Brecht asks us: "To whom should the world we are creating actually be entrusted?"

The production was created in collaboration with creative teams from Ukraine and Sakartvelo, with the support of the Dailes Theatre (Riga, Latvia).

The performance features live music performed by the musicians of the Center for Youth Music.
