Add to calendarWe invite you to a historical picnic with Kyiv researcher Kyrylo Stepanets, dedicated to a truly fascinating topic: the Dnieper tributaries within the capital.
Kyiv was once a city of numerous rivers and streams. They defined its landscape, influenced the development of settlements and trade, and shaped the daily lives of Kyivans. Where do the Lybid, Syrets, Hlybochytsia, Klov, and other Kyiv rivers flow today? Why have most of them disappeared from the urban landscape, even though they still continue their journey underground?
During our meeting, we will discuss the water history of Kyiv, learn how the natural landscape shaped the city from ancient times to the present, and discover the city from an unusual perspective.
The best way to enjoy the views of Podil from the museum grounds is with a snack, so don't forget to bring your coffee or tea!
