Over 11 years, Skvot has acquired quite a few legends, symbols, and residents of its own. One of them is the Leopard(ess), brought and gifted to the squat many years ago by our friend and regular, Hlib.
You can spot it in the space, find the print on our merch or in small details; sometimes it greets you from a "Reserved" sign on a table, or even appears as a guest in cultural programs. For some, it is just a decorative object; for others, a mascot; and for many, an integral part of Skvot.
This very leopard became the starting point for the "Tiger Trappers" (Leopardolovy) exhibition.
The exposition combines paintings and graphic works, collages, embroidery, calligraphy, ceramic dominoes, digital prints, and three-dimensional objects created by 20 artists: Iryna Vale, Polina Verbytska, Alina Haieva, Yuliia Dunaieva, Olesya Drashkaba, Maryna Diachenko, Helga Zubchevska, Olha Kokoshko, Kateryna Kosiak, Daria Kryzh, Dmytro Kryvonos, Sasha Lunova, Sasha Makarska, Sashko Pipa, Lina Romanukha, Sasha Ruban, Molly Route, Ivanna Stratiichuk, Dasha Stiopicheva, Kateryna Stepanishcheva, Anastasiia Sirenko.
Among the exhibits is a papier-mâché leopard head, which seems to be watching over this entire spotted invasion.
