Date and time
Add to calendarIn June 2023, Ukraine secured a historic legal victory: the Supreme Court of the Netherlands upheld previous rulings to return priceless artifacts that had been on display in the Netherlands since 2014. These Ancient Greek, Roman, Late Scythian, Sarmatian, Hunnic, and Gothic objects were discovered during archaeological excavations in Crimea between the 19th and 21st centuries. The collection includes 565 exhibits (2,111 individual items) from four Crimean museums.
The exhibition "Treasures of Crimea. The Return" also sheds light on the ongoing looting of Crimea's archaeological heritage in the occupied territories. This permanent display will remain at the Treasury until the final de-occupation of Crimea, after which the collection is intended to be returned to the peninsula.
