Add to calendarFor over nine decades, the scenic cantata Carmina Burana has graced world stages, captivating listeners with the primal energy of its rhythm, the monumentality of its sound, and its unique dramaturgy. Its famous opening chorus, "O Fortuna," has become one of the most recognizable musical symbols of our time, yet the true grandeur of the work is revealed in its entirety—from spring hymns to nature and youth to passionate scenes of love and reflections on the whims of fate.
In Kyiv, this monumental work will be performed by the National Capella of Ukraine "DUMKA," the National Presidential Orchestra, and leading Ukrainian soloists. Over a hundred performers will unite on one stage to recreate a massive sound phenomenon where medieval poetry meets the musical language of the 20th century.
Carmina Burana in Kyiv is more than just a concert. It is a major artistic event that allows the audience to experience the elemental power of music: from the whisper of spring’s awakening to the triumphant voice of Fortuna, under whose command we all reside.
Conductor — Volodymyr Sirenko.
The work is performed in its original language.
