A rich December weekend begins in Kyiv — with large concerts, festive fairs, intimate parties, and new museum projects. The city awaits winter shows, the return of well-known artists, Christmas traditions from «Kurazh», premiere exhibitions, and a market where you can gather holiday gifts and support local creators.
We have gathered the most interesting events of December 12–14.
On December 13, at the Palace of Sports, Max Barskih will present a large winter show — his first Kyiv performance after an extensive European tour. The artist has prepared a program combining well-known hits and English-language tracks, and will also perform songs from his new mini-album «City of Rains» live for the first time.

On December 13–14, in Pavilion No. 9 at VDNG, the festive «Kurazh» will take place — a large Christmas fair with gifts, workshops, and traditional winter rituals. The location will feature Malanka performances, the Goat ritual, and part of the proceeds will be directed to support the «Dronopad» project of the «Come Back Alive» foundation.
Throughout the two days, performances will include the Ukrainian authentic music ensemble «Bozhychi», the band «Shum’ya», the bandura chapel «Churai», Dennis Adu Quartet, KAZKA, the ethnic band «Draga», and the MELOS collective.
Entry: 400–500 UAH
On December 13–14, at 12 Desiatynna Street, the first themed gift market by «VSI.SVOI» will take place.
The organizers promise the atmosphere of Ukrainian winter traditions: you will be able to talk with artisans, learn more about modern interpretations of folk motifs, find unique designer items, as well as listen to contemporary interpretations of carols and warm up with hot tea, mulled wine, or cocoa.

On December 13, KURENI will host the «Eastern» party — an event focused on electronic music inspired by the sounds of the East. LOLA KIMCHI will perform on stage, creating her own style at the intersection of modern dance genres and Eastern motifs. Tam4ix will also join the lineup.
The venue will traditionally donate part of its profits to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The evening promises a dance atmosphere and an intimate mood under dimmed lights.
DRESS CODE: no business or sportswear.

On December 12, at Atlas club, the band O.Torvald will celebrate its twentieth anniversary — an event that will unite the key stages of their sound. The set will include songs that over two decades have traveled from basements and club stages to festival arenas and large venues.
It will be an evening of intense energy and recognizable drive, for which listeners have valued the band for many years.

The pre-holiday exhibition «Source of Light» continues at the State Polytechnic Museum of KPI — a project created in cooperation with the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of Ukraine. The exposition focuses on vytynanka as an art of light and shadow, which gains special symbolism during wartime.
The large hall features works from the workshop of Yuliia Skrypka (Pidkurhanna) and her students from Children’s Art School No. 5. Multi-layered paper compositions form an impressive space where silhouettes of archangels, «trees of life», sacred animals, birds, and other images seem to move toward the light.
The collection began with a semi-transparent Oranta and eventually developed into a cohesive visual experiment in which young artists discover new meanings by working with form and transparency.

The exhibition «Kharkivians. Askhat Safargalin. Petro Shyhymaga» continues at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine — part of the museum project «Dialogues». The exposition combines works of two representatives of the Kharkiv school of painting, whose art resonates with subtle lyricism, attention to detail, and a calm, almost chamber-like tone.
Askhat Safargalin’s canvases stand out with light and space: his landscapes are filled with airiness, and his genre scenes feature restrained psychological depth. Petro Shyhymaga’s works are balanced and melodic, focused on contemplation of nature and its gentle rhythms.
About eighty works from the museum collection are presented in the exposition. Together they form a unified dialogue about the beauty of the everyday, silence, and inner balance that the artists found in their subjects.

The final exhibition of the national project «Mosaic of Ukraine’s Heritage» is opening at the Maria Zankovetska Museum. It is the result of a year-long effort by the art agency Art Fine Nation, which in 2025 united artists from all regions to explore Ukrainian cultural memory through contemporary art.
Over the year, four large exhibitions were held within the project, dedicated to traditions, crafts, mythology, dance, and music. The final exposition brings these themes together into a single artistic mosaic, displayed in two exhibition halls of the museum. Here you can see works exploring the power of symbols and rituals, culinary and craft memory codes, mythological images and archaic signs, as well as the rhythms and movements that form the cultural pulse of the nation.
At the opening, visitors will be able to talk with the artists, learn about the curatorial team’s work, and see the pieces that have become the visual «voices» of Ukrainian heritage. The exhibition will run from December 13 to 25.

A new exhibition by Viacheslav Breish has opened at Vakulenko Art Consulting — one of the brightest representatives of Ukrainian romantic figurative postmodernism. The exhibition unites three main motifs that the artist develops in his work: jazz, Cossack Ukraine, and Japan.
In the «jazz» works, one feels improvisation and motion — elongated forms and smooth curves create an impression of music continuing beyond the canvas. The series dedicated to Cossack subjects conveys strength and expressiveness of character: the tense dynamics and energy of the compositions hold attention at first glance. The Japanese cycle stands out with restraint and precision of lines, enclosing the rhythm of ritual and a sense of inner silence.
Together, these three thematic directions form a coherent story — about culture, emotion, and the plasticity of movement, which the artist conveys through his signature style and sharp sense of rhythm.
