The main goal of the project was to enhance the investment and tourist attractiveness of the capital by leveraging modern digital technologies and Google tools. The highlight of the presentation will be a virtual reality exhibition where, wearing VR goggles, anyone interested can take a walk through captivating but often less-known places in Kyiv.
Результати багатомісячної роботи команда представить у сайтах, розроблених у співпраці з партнерами.
One of them is the website "Discover Kyiv" (https://discover-kyiv.com.ua), hosted on the Discover platform. Users of the site can explore the highlights of the capital, its landmarks, and even create their own travel routes within the city center and its outskirts. For those who don't want to plan the order of places to visit themselves, there are ready-to-use tourist routes that have been tried and tested by other visitors. Some of these routes come with professional audio guides and panoramic 3D tours, enhancing the experience.
Not for the first time, as part of the "Digital Transformation of Ukraine", the Google Ukraine team has developed tourist 3D tours. What makes these tours developed for Kyiv special is that they explore less accessible and less-known places in the city: Mikil'ska drainage and adit system, the famous yet unfinished Podil bridge, the House with Chimeras, which is currently exclusively used for hosting official receptions of foreign state delegations, and the shield of the monumental Motherland Statue, which is practically inaccessible. These panoramic tours will showcase Kyiv to both city guests and its residents in a multi-faceted and colorful way.
These, as well as other 3D exhibits, can be seen by anyone entirely for free by visiting the "Kyiv VRazes" exhibition, which will take place at the Taras Shevchenko National Museum from May 18th to May 20th of this year. Alongside the unique experiences from virtual journeys, exhibition visitors will be able to learn how to create similar virtual tours on their own, using only a smartphone and a bit of patience. Professional 3D photographers and authors of virtual tours from the exhibition will share valuable knowledge in this field during masterclasses with visitors. You can learn more about the entertainment aspect of the campaign results presentation on the exhibition's website http://vrazhae.kiev.ua and on its Facebook page.
Another project developed during the "Digital Transformation of Kyiv" campaign is the online platform Kyiv Maps, which provides users with access to information about events in Kyiv. Thanks to this resource, platform users can now browse all important information coming from the departments of the Kyiv City State Administration related to information and communication technologies, culture, tourism, health, education, science, youth, and sports. This increases citizens' engagement in the city's public life, brings ordinary residents closer to local authorities, and enhances the effectiveness of events and communications conducted by Kyiv's government institutions.
Another website developed during the campaign is mixsport.pro, targeting the audience interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and engaging in sports. This website brings together information about virtually all sports locations in the city. The website is well-optimized for finding sports grounds, pools, and sports clubs, including their contact information. In addition, the site publishes the latest news from the city's sports life, as well as schedules of competitions and other sports events.
In addition to launching the mentioned websites, the Google Ukraine team, together with its partners, conducted an audit on Google Maps information for over three thousand socially significant objects in the city. They also co-organized a seminar on freedom of speech for journalists with Freedom House and conducted a series of educational events on the basics of digital literacy and internet safety for local government officials, business professionals, civil servants, educators, and students.
It's worth noting that the campaign held in Kyiv is part of Google's project "Digital Transformation of Ukraine's Regions".
