About the place
The underpass near the Main Post Office, known as “Truba”, stands on the site of the former Kozine Swamp — a place long considered “unwholesome” by Kyiv residents. People say the atmosphere here has always felt heavy, and even today some passersby note a strange sense of pressure.
Next to the underpass once stood the income house of Olga Dyakonova. Fascinated by spiritualism, she reported poltergeist activity: furniture moving on its own, objects flying through the air. A priest’s blessing didn’t help, and the police even recorded these “inexplicable events.” The house was eventually sealed and later destroyed during the war. The Main Post Office was built in its place.
Thus, Truba has kept its reputation as a spot with a mystical past — unassuming, yet full of legends in the heart of Kyiv.
