About the place
The official history of the institution began in 1841, when the medical faculty was opened at St. Volodymyr's University of Kyiv. After a series of reorganizations in September 1920, the Kiev Institute of Health was created, which in 1921 was renamed the Kiev Medical Institute. In 1946 the institute was named after Academician O. Bogomolets, in 1992, on the basis of the Kiev Medical Institute, the Ukrainian State Medical University named after A.O. Bohomoltsia, in 1995 the institution was granted a national status.
