About the place
The museum was founded in 1923 at the Art Association "Berezil", headed by Les Kurbas. In 1926, the Ukrainian Theater Museum, headed by prominent theatrical scientist P. Rulin, was organized on the basis of the collection given by the Berezole of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. In 1934 the institution was reorganized into the State Museum of Theatrical Art of the Ukrainian SSR, in 1965 it was at the State Museum of Theater, Music and Cinema of Ukraine. In 2001, the name was changed to the Museum of theatrical, musical and cinema of Ukraine.
