About the place
The monument to Grigory Skovoroda adorns the Contract Square in Kiev. He appeared in the Ukrainian capital on March 1, 1977 at the then still Red Square. Frying pan faces the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, where he spent several years of his life both as a student and as a teacher. The frying pan seems to return to its alma mater. The place was chosen not by chance, because without the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, its system of education and upbringing, there would not be a scientific and pedagogical staff in Ukraine or in the whole of Russia, the national elite would not be formed - in politics, culture, clergy.
