The main directions of the Institute's activities are:

provision of educational services in accordance with state orders and contractual obligations for the needs of central executive authorities and local self-government, enterprises, institutions and organizations, other legal entities and individuals, etc .;
implementation of fundamental and applied scientific researches;
implementation of scientific and scientific-technical expertise in the field of scientific and technical development and research, fundamental and applied research, including at the stage of their practical application (implementation, use, consequences of use, etc.);
organizational and methodological management of the network of territorial courses, educational-methodical centers of civil protection and life safety.

Over the past few years, a number of new trends for the system of the DSNU of Ukraine have been launched in the IDUCF, namely:

Training on occupational safety of officials of the bodies and subdivisions of the SNS of Ukraine has begun;
Short-term advanced training on civil protection of pedagogical workers of educational-methodical centers was initiated;
classes were conducted on studying English with the staff of the State Duma Department of Ukraine in the Kyiv region and the city of Kyiv, who were involved in duty at the communication points during the period of the Eurovision-2017;
new forms and methods of training civil servants in the field of civil protection were introduced;
in-depth training in pre-school education;
received a license for educational activities in the field of knowledge26 "Civil Security" in specialty 261 "Fire safety" (Master's Degree).
