An encounter with a living legend of Ukrainian art Presentation of the art exhibition and sale of paintings by Valerii Franchuk "The Genetic Code of Will"
"I am Nevr, I am the son of the Scythian bull, I am of the Ukrainian holy land. My root is the Scythian sword Of a will tempered through millennia."
These lines, written by Valerii Oleksandrovych Franchuk himself, greet everyone on the poster for the "Genetic Code of Will" exhibition. They sound like a manifesto of an artist who, throughout his life, has explored the central theme of his work—the memory, strength, and resilience of the Ukrainian people.
Why you cannot miss this meeting:
There are artists who reflect their era. And then there are those who preserve the memory of an entire nation in their works. Valerii Franchuk is one of the most significant visual chroniclers of Ukraine of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
A People's Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize, and a state scholarship recipient, he has been creating an artistic chronicle of Ukrainian history, culture, and spiritual heritage for over 40 years. His work is more than just painting; it is an artistic archive of memory. Through his monumental series—The Swaying Bells of Memory, dedicated to the tragedy of the Holodomor in Ukraine, and The Kobzar in the Works of Valerii Franchuk—the artist speaks about what forms the Ukrainian genetic code: pain, struggle, freedom, and strength of spirit.
A unique opportunity to meet the Master:
On June 27, you will have a rare opportunity not only to see Valerii Franchuk's works in person but also to communicate with the artist, hear the stories behind his creations, and experience the energy of a master who has been shaping the visual history of Ukraine for decades.
9 canvases by Valerii Franchuk for sale for the first time:
As part of the exhibition project "Warriors of Light. Through the Ages," 9 unique canvases are being presented for private collection for the first time, spanning different periods of his career. These are works in which the millennial code of Ukrainian will comes to life:
"The Siege" (2012-2014) — a grand triptych from the series Parables: "With the Scythian Army of the Assyrian Kingdom";
"The Scythian" (2011) and "Scythian Rank" — images of power, memory, and historical roots;
"I Go to You! (Sviatoslav the Brave)" (2018) and "The Duel. Perish, Serpent!" — epic canvases about struggle and resilience;
"Prayer for Salvation" (2024), "A Black Flock Descended upon the Rye" (2024), "This Is Our Land" (2024), and "The Volunteer" — works where the artist reflects on modern Ukraine and its defenders.
These paintings are more than art; they are the recorded history of the Ukrainian people, from Scythian times to the present day. It is an opportunity to own a piece of the creative legacy of an artist whose work is already part of Ukraine's cultural history.
Free admission.
