NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ART NAMED AFTER BOGDAN AND VARVARA KHANENKO 15, Vulytsya Tereshchenkivsʹka, Kyiv
"With Artists, Curators, and Golden Sunsets" is the first solo exhibition by Anna Sapon. Created specifically for this show, the artist presents a series of 11 large-scale canvas "rugs" made using the tufting technique, alongside two art objects. In addition to these new pieces, the exhibition features about 30 of Anna’s previous works—drawings, paintings, and texts—offering a deeper glimpse into her creative universe.
The exhibition will run at The Khanenko Museum from January 23 to March 8, 2026.
Anna Sapon is an artist and co-founder of the "ateliershnormal" workshop and "Prekarni"—an art center dedicated to the collaborative work of neurotypical and neurodivergent artists. The exhibition is curated by Katya Libkind, co-founder of "ateliershnormal" and "Prekarni," herself an artist and curator of various art projects.
In her reflections, Anna Sapon seeks to approach the image of paradisiacal beauty. Her works, texts, and songs are filled with images of golden waterfalls, half-open gates, radiant air, and profoundly intense emotions. Anna accompanies each rug with a poem—representing what the rug might say to its audience.
