The centerpiece of the exhibition is the triptych "Territory of Reality. Groundless Country."
This painted triptych by Alina Gaieva is currently her most ambitious work, both in scale and inner depth. The artist projects her own vision of our country’s present existence, its origins, and its prospects. In terms of composition and intricate detailing, the triptych echoes "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch.
In depicting the characters and deeply contemplating modern events, the artist draws upon Johann Gustav Droysen’s methodology of historical knowledge, which is based on understanding and interpreting a work as a product of a specific cultural tradition. Based on this triptych, a deck of projective metaphorical cards titled "The Universe Inside Out" was created.
Metaphorical, associative, therapeutic, or projective cards are tools used in psychology, counseling, and therapy to help individuals explore the innermost depths of their souls.
Associative cards bypass psychological defense mechanisms because analyzing oneself and sharing personal stories through visual imagery is significantly easier for the psyche. Created based on the painting, Alina Gaieva’s MAC (Metaphorical Associative Cards) deck allows for the exploration and reimagining of our current needs, values, beliefs, motives, and fears through the process of reflection.
