Add to calendar"Fight and you shall overcome, God helps you!" — these prophetic words of Taras Shevchenko today sound like an order for every Ukrainian soldier fighting for our freedom on the front lines.
On the occasion of the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine and the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, the National Philharmonic of Ukraine presents an event where the Kobzar's poetry comes alive in majestic sounds of music. Stanislavkevych's cantata-symphony The Caucasus is a monumental work, pierced with the pain of losses, yet at the same time filled with an iron will for Victory.
Over 180 years ago, a poem was born that became an uncompromising verdict on the Russian empire. Centuries pass, the enemy changes names and weapons, but its imperial ambitions, violence, and treachery remain unchanged. Today, The Caucasus sounds especially sharp, as Shevchenko's word once again reminds us of the price of freedom, the strength of resistance, and a people's right to determine their own future. And as long as Ukraine fights, these words remain relevant — as a belief in Victory and as a promise to remember those who are bringing it closer.
