Letters with love

Letters are written when there is something important to say — something that cannot be left unsaid. In this program, Ukrainian composers "write" in exactly this way: about love and nature, about their native land, and about everything that is too powerful to keep silent.

Lysenko, Zherbin, Dychko, Revutsky, Silvestrov, Skoryk, Kosenko — different eras, different voices, but a shared intonation. There is sensuality and doubt, passion and restraint, and that special, poignant devotion which can only be described as love for one's homeland.

This program is curated from the most beautiful works of the Ukrainian chamber repertoire. These are small stories captured in a few pages of sheet music — yet they contain the past, the present, and an unwavering faith in a bright future.
