Add to calendarRoundtable: "The Pysanka as a Living Tradition of Intangible Cultural Heritage: A Dialogue of Culture, Education, and Inclusion"
Amid the growing interest in Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and its role during modern transformations, we invite you to the roundtable: "The Pysanka as a Living Tradition of Intangible Cultural Heritage: A Dialogue of Culture, Education, and Inclusion."
The Pysanka (Ukrainian Easter egg) is more than a holiday symbol; it is a unique phenomenon of Ukrainian culture that has preserved worldviews, ritual practices, and aesthetic traditions for centuries. Today, pysanka making is a living practice that requires not only protection but also reimagining through the lens of modern educational, social, and inclusive approaches.
Key Topics for Discussion:
The transformation of pysanka making in contemporary society.
The role of tradition-bearers and artisans in knowledge transmission.
Integrating ICH elements into formal and informal education.
Inclusive practices within the sphere of cultural heritage.
Cross-sectoral interaction between culture, education, and the civic sector.
Special attention will be given to practical case studies from communities and cultural institutions, as well as the creation of sustainable models for popularizing pysanka making as a living heritage element.
