Kyiv Music Premiers – 2026: Festival Closing

The festival’s closing program features six works by composers, each possessing a unique and inimitable style. Different generations, different perspectives, different backgrounds. Diverse ideas, diverse influences. It is precisely within this tapestry of differences that the complexity of the present day—its multi-layered and contradictory nature—reveals itself.

The immersive orchestral sound combined with electronics by Alla Zagaykevych meets the borderline expressive utterances of Anastasiia Komlikova. The lyricism of Iryna Aleksiychuk contrasts with the mounting anxiety in Viktor Stepurko’s composition. The oratorical elevation of Oleksii Shmurak stands alongside the fragmented sounds of Leonid Hrabovsky’s work. The diversity of the listener’s experience resonates with the multifaceted explorations of contemporary Ukrainian authors.
