Add to calendarThe Treasury of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine invites you to a guided tour of the exhibition "MİRAS. Heritage."
This exhibition offers an immersive journey into the living heritage of the indigenous people of Crimea. A collaborative project with the NGO "Alem," it showcases Crimean Tatar culture as a vibrant, continuous tradition that shapes societal values, daily life, and political culture.
Exhibition Highlights: For the first time, the largest collection of Crimean Tatar jewelry and household items from the 19th to early 20th centuries on mainland Ukraine is presented comprehensively.
Jewelry: Exquisite silver k’ushaks (women's belts) and topeliks (headpiece ornaments) showcasing the delicate technique of Crimean Tatar filigree.
Artifacts: Silver cases for the Quran, male amulets, traditional coffee sets, gold-embroidered clothing, and traditional costumes.
Art & History: The second hall features lithographs by Friedrich Gross, capturing the Crimean Tatar world in the first half of the 19th century—including monuments later destroyed during Russian colonization.
The tour reveals deep meanings within ornamental compositions that resonate with Ukrainians: the pursuit of prosperity, family strength, protection, and a profound connection to one’s homeland.
