Date and time
Add to calendarSince ancient times, the arrival of spring has marked the beginning of a new year. One of the oldest traditions is Nowruz—Persian for "New Day"—the astronomical New Year celebrated by millions worldwide.
Two and a half millennia ago, the Scythians celebrated their New Year in spring, coinciding with the equinox. This was a sacred time of awakening, honored through rituals involving legendary "golden gifts" that, according to Herodotus, fell from the sky: a plow, a yoke, an axe, and a bowl.
During this exclusive tour, we will explore:
The true meaning of the "sacred gifts."
The mystical symbolism of the guardian’s sleep and death.
The secrets of ancient ceremonial attire.
The rituals performed to ensure prosperity and happiness in the coming year.
The journey into Scythian traditions will be led by Yurii Polidovych, a renowned Scythology expert and head of the research department at the Treasury of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine.
