The annual non-fiction culture festival "Fundament," founded by the Ukrainian House, will transform the institution's atrium for the third time into a space for a large-scale selection of the newest books on art, history, architecture, music, cinema, design, urban studies, and society.
The festival takes place within the framework of the Ukrainian House Literary Program, which aims not only to showcase the diversity of Ukrainian publications and engage a wide audience in conversations about culture through books, but also to popularize the culture of reading and reflection as tools for comprehending reality.
The focus theme of this year's festival will be stories about memory—collective and individual, preserved and lost, conscious and reified. From November 19 to 22, 2026, alongside authors, publishers, and readers, "Fundament" will explore the processes of remembering and forgetting, collective and individual memory, cultural figures and phenomena—sometimes forgotten and rediscovered anew.
The festival will feature a book exhibition and sale, an exhibition program, a public events program, and special projects.
